ENDING the partial alliance with the Kangaroos has revived the Devils' spirit, says Tasmania's five-goal hero Alex Gilmour.
The Devils returned to the VFL winning list with a three-point victory over Box Hill on Sunday, despite holding the same lead at the final change and kicking into a strong wind.
"I always thought the best thing for Tasmanian footy would be as a stand-alone club," Gilmour said yesterday.
"The group is together, a close group centralised down here in Hobart.
"There is nobody flying in, flying out, trying to get AFL games, playing for themselves. It is just a group of Tasmanians all going in the one direction trying to get the same result."
