WILLIAMSTOWN’S unbeaten VFL run is over. The Seagulls lost by two points, 15.8 (98) to 14.16 (100) to North Ballarat in the highly anticipated round eight clash between the two VFL powerhouses at Burbank Oval on Sunday.
The Roosters, sitting second on the ladder, went into the final term with a five-point lead against the top-of-the-table Seagulls, on the back of six goals from Corey Jones and a competitive three quarters.

Williamstown made 3 changes to the side that defeated Sandringham by 48 points in Round 4. Into the side came debutant Dylan Joyce, Dylan Addison was dropped by the Bulldogs and Henry White was promoted from the Reserves. Out of the side went Ayce Cordy (injured), Ben Jolley (ill) and Xavier Gotch was dropped.

THERE were positive signs for Robert Murphy lining up for Williamstown against Collingwood's VFL side yesterday at VISY Park.
Williamstown coach Brad Gotch used Murphy, who has recovered from knee surgery, across half-back in 15-20 minute spells in each quarter.
Murphy, 26, had 10 kicks and two handballs to play a role in the Seagulls' 56-point victory.
"I thought Murphy got better in the second half," Gotch said.

WESTERN Bulldogs forward Robert Murphy looks set to return to senior football after getting through his first game of football in Williamstown's 62-point smashing of Collingwood yesterday at Visy Park.

Williamstown played Coburg Tigers in a Practice Match at Whitten Oval on Saturday 14th March in wet conditions. Coburg eventually won the game by 20 points after an inaccurate Williamstown kicked 1 goal 9 behinds in a wasteful third quarter.
