Very disappointing for Frankston. Willy and Port continue to pick apart Frankston when its most vulnerable. Lets hope there's no more going, but wont be holding my breath...

CGull

Lock up your daughters  boys,Willy have started the usual rape and pillage, with $4million in the bank the sky's the limit.

As they say money talks and bulldust walks!Looks like Port and Willy will be the two strong stand alone clubs next year on the back of pokie profits.Werribbe could be half a chance but Coburg and Frankston no hope of improving.Whats the story with Frankston - no money or badly run?

Frankston went into voluntary administration in Aug 2016 and made a deal to repay their creditors. They will emerge from that next year with the debts cleared and a clean slate. They have had restrictions on spending and have not been able to pay their current players as much as the other clubs do, which has made made it very hard to get experienced players to the club and made them very vulnerable to poaching from other VFL clubs with offers of more money. (McCarthy and Rich so far this year)

The current administration at the club is top notch and have set very solid foundations for the future. I would expect in 5 or 6 years, if the VFL lasts that long, and Geddes, Lloyd, O'Neil and co continue to steer the ship,  Frankston will be one of the power sides in the VFL.

Hopefully the dolphins can improve further in 2020 and add a few more wins.

Still very early to tell but i say that Williamstown will be the strongest stand alone side.

Ports already lost a couple of huge names in Heretaku and Shannen Lange. Pearson was also a solid player although he did struggle at one point last year for form. It will be interesting to see if Port can replace the quality lost.

Just as interesting will be if Digs does some Port bashing if Port dares replace their players "HOW DARE YOU TAKE A PLAYER OF QUALITY THAT WANTS TO PLAY VFL FROM A POOR STRUGGLING CLUB, YOUR RIPPING APART THE HEART AND SOUL OF VICTORIAN GRASS ROOT CLUBS YOU BOROUGH HEATHENS"

17 PREMIERSHIPS, 33 x GRAND FINALISTS, 21 X Runners up

THE VFLS MOST SUCCESSFUL CLUB - THE MIGHTY PORT MELBOURNE BOROUGH!

I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN, I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED, I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!

Listen Mega Don"t qoute me with untruths. !

It is not Port bashing merely stating it as it is.

In your words "How are we supposed to get players under the new structures. ??"

How do you think clubs like Werribee, Coburg & Frankston get on. Their prepared to get off their arses & go out & recruit development players instead of sitting back ripping the guts of less wealthy clubs.
