You think if Frankston and Coburg could get top line VFL players or EX AFL players they wouldn't do so ? They have no choice other than recruiting the way they do. Solely recruiting in that way only brings limited success.
The club that the player is taken from are not always happy but... the players are! Most of them say "Ports a destination club, it was a dream and ambition of mine to come to the great high achievers of Port Melbourne". Port should be congratulated for making many dreams come true over the years.
It's not as if Williamstown and Port don't lose players, Ports lost two big names already, thats football, players come and they go, from surprisingly... even top line heavyweight VFL clubs, as Darryn Hynch would say "That's life".

Frankston today announced the signing of former Richmon and Port Adelaide player Jay Schulz as senior assistant coach for 2020
Do Port know about this ??
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Dolphins working hard to bolster their coaching ranks for next year. Jay Shultz and now Lachlan Oakley ex Sandy. Not too much to report on player signings, a few promising kids inc Bailey Lambert son of Craig from Richmond VFL.
A number of supporters were hoping for a few ex players to return this year but looks like it wont be happening. Baguely has signed with Langwarrin and Lewis Pierce likely to play for Mt Eliza. Pierce is good enough to dominate at VFL level an a second Frankston B&F would get him on the AFL radar again. What a waste...
Skybus has recommitted to naming rights at Skybus Stadium for another 3 years.
Fantastic news for Frankston!
Will get to a few dolphins games this year including the night games against Essendon and Richmond.
Peter Geddes has resigned as club president. He took the club from the brink of extinction to a debt free, well organised professionally run footy club since taking over in 2017. Very hands on, was at nearly every game, always available to talk to anyone about the club, and I even saw him in the kiosk one day serving hot dogs. I hope they name something significant after him, eg the Function Centre. A job extremely well done.
On another note, I heard on the grapevine last week that two big announcements were iminent from the club, but nothing forthcoming as yet.
Club announced a $30k profit for the year this week
Also will have a women's team in SEWFL Division 1 next year and looking for a possible VFLW license as early as 2022.
former player Ken Jungwirth and Admin Manager Tina Bremert announced as life members
New floodlights to be tested in February first game with new lights possibly in April.
The club is looking at making Friday night footy a weekly thing at SkyBus Stadium whether it being a Frankston men's or women's game or MPNFL matches. I hear plenty of interest from clubs and AFLSE. Good chance that one of the 2 grand finals at the end of the year could be a night game.
The club also talking with other sports eg. Soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union about playing games at SkyBus Stadium.
The club is also working with the council about other events including hosting 550 underprivileged people (families etc.) for lunch at SkyBus Stadium on Christmas Day
Over the new few years the next stage of the redevelopment is a 2000 seat grandstand on the social club side of the ground with new change rooms etc.
SkyBus Stadium "Gateway to Mornington Peninula"
All great news for the Dolphins, Great to see the club progressing with all the improvements & vision.
Shame some of the other clubs can't follow suit. !
