VFA DVDS

Hi everyone,

It has been a long time since I have posted but I was hoping someone can help me out. I would love to get a collection of VFA dvds in particular the grand finals. If anyone can help me please send me a private message or reply here. I dont have anything to swap but would be happy to pay depending on how much.

I am an old Coburg Lions fan and would dearly love to re live their glory days! :)

Thanks

Brad

Hard to find Brad :(

I've been searching for Frankston's grand finals for ages and can't find them.....just a snippet of the 78 div 2 game on youtube......I know the entire Willy v Springvale 1990 game is on there, and maybe a few others. I'll do a bit of a search later and see what I can find.

They were all Roosters wins Digs?

Digs can tell you the exact score, goalkickers, starting lineup for each of those memorable wins.
He can tell you those stats fresh from the memory bank like it was played yesterday.

Haha, I'd be exactly the same vfa......if I had one to remember!

I remember 1978 pretty well when the dolphins won.
In three straight seasons we saw Mordialloc's only VFA flag in 1977, Frankston 1978 and Camberwell's first in 1979.
All great memories for those clubs as well as VFA in general.
Throw in by beloved Northcote Dragons in 1982. The good old days of footy.

Caveman, I would suggest contacting Cameron Towson (used to post here as StationHotel).  He has an extensive VFA library scarecely missing a game since TV coverage began.

If you send me a message, I'll pass on his details.

Brad, I think i have the 1988 & 1989 GF's but on VHS tape, not DVD, but i do have the 1979 GF on DVD. The last five minutes of this game is on YouTube if you weren't aware https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yercsIGrr5k There is also a lot of other Coburg stuff on YouTube and probably also on VFA The Halcyon Days Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/vfafootythehalcyondays/

I have some other Coburg home-and-away games on DVD, I'll let you know which ones later.

Have only seen the 2008 Grand Final 50 times.

Never ever to be forgotten when a little bush footy club bought the mighty Port to their knees.

Loved the game of Port's great ex AFL ruckman Dylan McClaren, one mark, one kick, one goal, all at the 30 minute mark of the final quarter !

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

Did any North Melbourne players appear for the 'little bush footy club' in the 2008 GF, digs?

I recall Aaron Edwards played in one of the 3 GFs

digs

Was waiting for that one but not from you Wal !

The little bush team had seven unknown Kangaroo rookies who had less than a total of 40 AFL games playing AFL between them. The rest was made up of local players.

Port's side had far more AFL experience :-

John Baird                 46 AFL games.

Luke Livingstone       46 AFL games

Cory McGrath            78 AFL games

Bo Nixon                     3 AFL games

Dylan McClaren         59 AFL games

David Fanning           14 AFL games

Seven AFL players each but far more experience in the Port lineup !
