Nah VFA, GWS to win the AFL flag. The tears from the Richmond Supporters will break the drought on Saturday.
The two most despised sporting teams are gws and Sydney roosters. Especially sydney roosters. Reckon I hate them more than you hate the seagulls comeng.
Princes park heaps better than turd dome. They also sell cans instead of those stupid watered down plastic cups.
I thought it was more than that - On tv looked like 20k. Their was a abscence of any real atmosphere - maybe a refelection of the tight game it was.One of the lowest Grand Final crowds for a few years - probably lowest since 2011 ?
17 PREMIERSHIPS, 33 x GRAND FINALISTS, 21 X Runners up
THE VFLS MOST SUCCESSFUL CLUB - THE MIGHTY PORT MELBOURNE BOROUGH!
I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN, I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED, I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!
Thought the crowd would be bigger but who cares as no more turd dome and back to grass roots ground. Enjoyed having a can than watered down plastic cups at inflated turd dome prices.
I would rather 10,000 at princes park than having the gf at turd dome. Never again should vfl gf be held at turd dome. More of a real grass roots feel today. Grandstand finish. Willy almost but not quite. That's life in the words of deryn hinch. Willy, werribee and port will again be up there next year for the old vfa teams. Not that much improvement to see another vfl standalone club win another flag. Coburg and Frankston will improve next year. St Kilda reserves who cares, Carlton reserves who cares, hawthorn reserves who cares, Melbourne reserves who cares. All afl seconds who cares. Heard a rumour Tassie devils could be pushed forward for 2020 inclusion. Fact or fiction ? Brisbane lions reserves should join vfl if they think they are the ants pants.
Crowd was 381 more than last year’s GF
Congrats to Richmond. Hard to begrudge them a GF win - best team all year and got the job done on the day. Willy, you were beyond fantastic, a shit first quarter and two posters in the final minutes cost you dearly, but as Cambell Brown said in commentary, "Willy will never go way". He was 100% right - Willy just kept coming and coming, even when it looked like they were done and dusted they would find a way to get back in the game. Fantastic effort.
Congrats to Channel 7, great coverage of a really enjoyable day. Jason Bennett, Nigel Carmody and Campbell Brown were first rate as always and Lauren Arnell was so good as the boundary rider she would not be out of place at the AFL games. I wish these guys would call a few of the AFL games, I prefer them any day to the hysterics of the moron BT and the creepy McAvaney.
All in all a very entertaining and interesting season. Looking forward to VFL 2020, hopefully the rumours are wrong about it being the last year as the second tier of Aussie Rules footy.
And a big thanks to David (North Port) for the Forum again this year. Hopefully we can continue on bit longer yet...
Go the Dolphins in 2020!
Very good summary bearsman. Willy looked ordinary at start where Richmond looked on. Seagulls slowly got going. Great finish and Willie wheeler almost pinched it. Williamstown who lost 4 good players in the afl draft did a great job to almost win against a very good team. Last year the seagulls lost by a point in preliminary final and this year 3 points off. Far better vibe at princes park. Felt like a true suburban gf yesterday standing in outer drinking a can. Grass roots element was good. Ch7 have done a good job. Thumbs up. Hope the 5 vfa teams can all build for 2020 season and all improve on what they achieved this year. North port keep up the great work on this site.
