Very true mega. Hoping you a wrong but this virus could linger on for months.
Seems odd that the AFL is pushing ahead, albeit behind closed doors, when other sporting competitions world-wide are suspended or cancelled, I just wonder how much input Channel 7 and Foxtel had in this decision. Without the advertising revenue that the footy brings both these companies are cooked, financially.
It will be a poor look Wally if the AFL goes ahead with Round 1 on Thursday. Footy can wait. More important things like peoples health and well being.
Waiting with bated breath for the CASINO to be shut down. The worst possible envionment for the spread of germs & diseases !!
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Spot on digs. That is one place I would not go in a fit let alone in today's environment.
I understand if VFL resumes on June 6/7 could be a big if. It will be without Richmond or Footscray.
I dont think the AFL will be able to hold out for long esp if a player comes down with the virus.
Yeah ATM they are only closing half the pokie machines but I would suspect the Asian cohort would be way down anyway.
I suppose the only good thing the alinged clubs have is they dont have many players to pay.I dont mind the AFL playing to empty stadiums that way at least they can get some of the TV money but I do think either public opinion or the government will make them stop for a while. If they can still get in 17 rounds when the dust settles is another thing.
Hawthorn join Western Bulldogs and Richmond in withdrawning their players from 2020 VFL Season.
We are down to 13 clubs and Box Hill Hawks is a stand alone team
