Yet they allow the AFL to begin as per normal ? Very inconsistent decision.  Are AFL players more immune to the virus ?

Mega, looks like afl will be cut to 17 rounds. Every team plays each other once. Round one highly unlikely. Reckon afl will be suspended for a few weeks. Forget about the byes which gives them flexibility for later start if necessary. Wafl been suspended. Local leagues likely to go ahead at this stage. I have checked vafa, Yarra valley, efl and edfl. Although some leagues could start season much later as is the case in efl.

How do VFL clubs manage this situation ? They have effectively added 2 months to pre season,l - if players are constantly training sooner or later they are going to want to be paid.

In light of yesterday's decision I wouldn't be surprised if clubs tell there players to take a break and come back in a month or so.

Things are slowly shutting down. My bus and train to work is getting less people by the day as they stay home in droves. Think all footy can wait. That includes afl who should not play round one. Very poor if they did. Footy not number one priority peoples health matters. The afl have shortened their season and can have later start.
