I did read that. Craig 'nobody' Jennings is an absolute goose. He got the flick from Melbourne last year after their poor season. I would not take any notice whatsoever from that ridiculous article by some nobody who has no idea. Imagine the AFL players trying to organise practice games instead of playing competitive VFL games. To suggest they they do not care if they win is absurd. No doubt Jennings would be on centrelink payments after getting the flick last year with the demons woeful season and is taking his frustrations with a disgraceful article. Irrespective of the AFL financial position they do need the VFL comp even with their lowest lists the overflow of players can's just sit idle, play pointless practice games or be banished to the local comps.
According to Caro on Footy Classified last night, the two QLD teams and the two Sydney teams are considering entering a single combined team in the VFL rather than funding four seperate teams in the NEAFL from next season. Will be an interesting football landscape when we eventually come out of this, with Tasmania also re-entering the competition from next season, good opportunities for interstate trips once again.
Another dickhead who hasnt got any idea. And Jordan Lewis says the standard has dropped - another ridiculous comment.
Craig Jennings is a nobody and all his comments are completely irrelevant. As for the comments by Jordan Lewis that the standard has dropped that is also trash talk. Gibbons and several VFL players have made the list at AFL level and are doing well. If the standard dropped I don't think the AFL would be looking to recruit from the VFL.
“I can’t remember one time where the concept of playing VFL in a competitive game was deemed important by the match committee."
Thats the guts of why the aligned clubs get screwed over by the AFL clubs and the comp is a joke.
When you have a group of clubs not caring about winning thats not a proper footy comp its fake and decietful. Its no wonder the people that bother to go matches is so small considering the VFL (sic) is supposed to be the best league outside the AFL!The sooner some form of new competition without the AFL teams takes its place the better.
We are an unofficial VFA / VFL website made up of long time and new supporters of clubs from the Victorian Football Association (now Victorian Football League)..
