As you well know I hate being a smart arse, But the last thing I believe is that Port need is ANOTHER ex AFL dud ruckman after all those years recruiting players that are NO GOOD.
The only decent ruckman that ive seen at Port is Wade Skipper who was not a traditional ruckman in a sense but did a great job for a player who was mostly undersised.
Howdy Digs - whilst its fair to say some ex AFL players at Port didn't step up to the plate, overall the strategy of recruiting ex AFL players is one that has been successful. Sure their are exceptions whereby more was expected than what was delivered but overall Port has successfully recruited from the AFL.
You don't rate David Fanning as a good ruckman ?

VFL stab: the Wagga Wagga Online News reporting tonight that North Albury best and fairest Jackson Weidemann has joined league mainstay Port Melbourne.
Jack Briskey (who was touted as a top NAB AFL draft prospect last year by Kevin Sheedy) has joined Port. Briskey was training at Collingwood earlier in the year but was not offered a contract. The 193 cm defender will be 20 years of age next season therefore filling another of the mandatory under 21 years of age spots.
On a seperate note - whats happened to the private message function ? Cant seem to find it.

Brett Chadband had some epic duels with Barry Round and Geoff Pritchard went alright, then there was big Vic Aaensen
Hi Wal.
Chadband, Can't remember him & Pritchard played only one VFL/AFL game but Aensen was a different story.
More to come in answer to Mega's question !
