So I had grand plans of doing a site upgrade while I'm at home looking after bub...i haven't had a moment to spare, but private messaging should be back (before the end of the year I hope.)

Heres some more Port Melbourne recruits

Felix Flackart - a ruckman from Sandringham dragons who has 2 VFL games under his belt - 19 years of age.

Another ruckman is Tom Hofert who comes in 1 cm taller than Felix at 204 cms. Tom had played 4 VFL games last season for GC suns.

Ports tradition of finding players of Italian background continues (and theirs been a few good ones over the years) with recruiting Jesse Cucinotta and Nathan Scagliarini. I can see yet again a couple of Italians I know at the club say to me "why you no hava any of ta Greek players at Port u no good enough but us Italiani noumero uno" . As if stealing Pizzas from the Greeks wasn't bad enough now I have to listen to their representation of the club. Anyways back to the players... Nathan by all accounts is a promising player who could be a danger to opposition.

Jack Johnson from gold coast comes to Port after 7 games - he is only 19 years of age and 195 cms.

23 year old 183 cms Defender / winger Mitchell Lewis joins from Casey.

Two picks of the bunch i'll say are 194 cm Oscar Morrison who was previously at Geelong Falcons and was a inclusion in the  NAB team of the year. The other one to look out for is Cody Stackelberg who played 8 games for Collingwood VFL and also captained Brisbane Lions Academy side for a couple of seasons.

A little underwhelmed by these recruits if truth be told but hope is not lost in assembling a good 2022 side, I feel should Port recruit a few top VFL players in positions which are lacking then they will be a very competitive side. I believe theirs not many spots to fill, hopefully the remainder is filled with genuine contributors otherwise it may be yet again a long season.

Felix Flockart is such an imortant signing for th Borough.  Structually, the lack of a dominant ruck has been a deficiency for a number of seasons.

It's been an area where the AFL clubs have the biggest advantage.

I've really liked Port's recruiting this year.  Bring on the footy!  The criket hasn't been a even contest.

Having Paul Hunter in the ruck as well as Felix is a huge plus.

So far I would rate the recruitment as a B-  need a couple of key forwards to convert all those inside 50s which with the strong midfield we have will no doubt be plentiful in 2022.

A few more youngsters at Port, list must be just about full now.

Ex Gold Coast Suns Acadamy ,member Will Reinhold comes to us after being recruited from Temora, at 20 years of age he ads plenty of height (194 cm). He started off his senior career in defence but has now transitioned as a midfield and forward. His versatility may come in handy.

21 year old North Albury defender and last seasons best and fairest winner Jackson Weiderman joins us.

Lachie Modica from Casey joins us, a handy wingman who can be a threat and 19 year old Joe Ayton-Delaney who played 2 games for Williamstown in 2019 and who was a Vic metro representative is also a Borough, recruited from Old Xaverians.

If theirs any more free spots i'ld like to see them filled with quality forwards but im not holding my breath as I think all positions may be filled now and its hard to find quality a few weeks out from the season.

Oi dont put words on my mouth, i said a few posts back that Ports recruitment was probably a B-. We won't be doing anything spectacular in 2022 unless we fix the forward line so do your bit for your much loved club and send us some forwards.

The club is going through a 3 year super dooper, highly researched, world leading strategic plan that will ensure that Port Melbourne remains the best side in Australia but only being in year 1 of this revolutionary strategy we arent expecting much, or at least thats the excuse i expect to hear at seasons end by the board.
