Some big outs for Port, with what will be a different looking side with arguably two key players in Phillips and Cameron out. Jack Johnston had also started the season well.

A gripping contest played in good conditions. Sydney too good on the day, but it was a very even contest that could easily have resulted in a Port Melbourne win. I'll probably review the game later tonight or tomorrow.
I felt our debutants made a good account of themselves and the number of errors seemed to be a big improvement on previous weeks.

I reckon our midfield will be very consistent season long as its probably the strongest part of our side. I didn't see the game today but going by the stats it looks like we beat them in most departments other than the one that counts, the final score. Truth be told a much better result than what I was expecting, where did we go wrong ?
Dont wanna lose next week otherwise it will be the 1st time since 1908 that Port has lost the opening 4 games of the season.

Spot on Mega, our midfield was terrific yesterday. Templeton, Hooper, Wagner, Lentini and O'Sullivan (particularly early) were first rate. Our forward line, and forward entries are the concern I'd say. But there was also a great output from some first year players too including Cody Szust on debut.
Given the outs to our defensive half, I always thought we would be at risk of conceding a few more goals. Amartey in particular was always going to be a handful.
If we bring the effort that we played with against Sydney, I've got real belief that we can notch up the win next week against the Bombers.
