Port Melbourne can count themselves very unlucky today. I'll post my full thoughts a touch later, but a much improved effort from the Borough in recent weeks.
maybe its my paranoia, but do the 50/50 decisions always seem to go to the AFL or aligned sides? there were two late in the Port game today, a deliberate out-of-bounds and another that went to Box Hill that allowed them to level the scores - without that Port may have hung on to win - both the Dolphins and Port could have won with an ounce of luck - disappointing for the stand-alones

Wally, Robbo keeps stats on Frees for and against ranked as a ladder.. The standalone clubs are generally doing ok overall.
I do agree that umpires err on the side of the AFL aligned clubs though, particularly at key times in matches.
Yes the deliberate out of bounds was a rough call. I'm just watching the replay now.
I was a little distracted today looking after the little one, but I do believe defensively we have improved and are linking up well. The skill level that wasn't working with our game plan seems to have improved and less frustrating turnovers.
We had an assistant coach taking the reigns today (two weeks in a row).
i remember we were playing Box Hill in a final at Port Melbourne a few years back and one of our blokes was having a shot at goal - a Box Hill bloke came off the bench and ran straight across the mark and the umpire did nothing - we lost that final by less than a goal and i've been suspicious of them ever since - perhaps jeff kennett's yellow leather trousers dazzled them that day
Williamstown lost that game to box hill by one point. Remember it well. Frankston who were $6.20 and port Melbourne $9 both should have won with just an ounce of luck. I think the old vfa teams are gradually improving as the season gets longer. I'll support all of the vfa teams when playing afl teams. In the finals I'll support any of the vfa teams. if none of the vfa clubs don't make, looks like only werribee could make it at this stage, i hope Southport smashes the afl teams. Southport are flying st the moment and are really looking good.
"Remember that well. I was behind the goals. Footy can certainly be a cruel game. Inches away."
1996 Grand Final Frankston vs Springvale. Graham Yeats kicked a goal from the boundary line in the final minute to down Frankston by 3 points. Was sick for a week...

* It's time to restore the VFA name.

Jaylon Thorpe had a shot for goal just before the siren that would have won us the game but it just missed and the siren went a few seconds later

Any idea why Casey are wearing the old Springvale jumpers today?
It was heritage day for Casey here at Casey Fields
dominant first half keeps Casey unbeaten
