not a bad crowd out at Werribee - Rhys Mathieson smashed us last week up in Brisbane, hardly sighted so far, Werribee must have done their homework on him or he's just having a bad one
As VFA told me the other night during a extraordinarily frustrating Heidelberg united match, Werribee once again proving that a stand alone club can be successful in this competition. Unfortunately though many tend to have selected memories and I'm sure it won't be too long before we hear the usual it's too hard to be competitive thesedays comments.

THE VFLS MOST SUCCESSFUL CLUB - THE MIGHTY PORT MELBOURNE BOROUGH!
I'M PORT MELBURNE BORN, I'M PORT MELBOURNE BRED, I'LL BE PORT UNTIL I'M DEAD!!!
Easy win for Werribee, Box Hill didn't even show up ;-)
The Tiges were very good, Brissy challenged them repeatedly but I think they kicked something like 9 red time goals to 2. Controlled the game and played it in their half when they were challenged and deserve their spot in the GF.
Werribee v gold coast gf next sunday as predicted by many. Werribee will make it 18 wins on the trot next Sunday and win the flag. Will be a pro werribee crowd. I'll be there to cheer the VFA club on. Watched my old team Richmond central reserves unfortunately lost the gf against Elsternwick at box hill by 4 points. Then headed to bayswater where to see rowville beat Vermont in gf. Very good crowd enjoying the sun and a great game of footy. Tomorrow off to healesville to watch emerald v Berwick springs. Sensational weekend weatherwise for footy.
The VFL GF crowd will be pretty ordinary as historically Werribee does not have a large supporter base and the Gold Coast in Melbourne virtually none!
It was pity the the Box Hill Hawks did not get up.
My prediction on a fine day is less than 10,000 depending on how much effort the AFL/VFL put into promoting the match which I suspect will be the usual very little.
No mention of the VFL finals on Ch 7 news last night even though they are the host broadcaster - I would have thought some of Chol's marking might have been worth a quick grab but nothing, zero, zilch - they even got the VFL fixturing wrong on Friday night's broadcast claiming that Gold Coast was playing Geelong, which didn't even make the finals
Werribee are playing Brisbane, are they not?
Defiantly Brisbane. As I write there is team in Brisbane colours doing warm up exercises.
