He will be sorely missed. Pug played for the club since the late 90s and by chance I was looking at photos of him at the Museum from 1951 season.
Top bloke, ill miss him. Excelled in all areas as a person - loyal, passionate, approachable, friendly and loved by all. Boys on the hill would often chant his name when he would walk past and he would break into that smile that always seemed to be on his face when he was at Port Melbourne and give a wave.
Port melbourne was very blessed to have this man whose forever written his name in Borough history with his over 70 years of service as both a player and volunteer.
Have a Borough burger with the rest of our family who have departed us Henry, hope the lads win for you this weekend. Rest in peace, your memory at the club will be eternal.

Sounds like a great character of the club, sorry for your loss fellas.
So sad to hear this news. Pug played with my dad at Port 1951-53 and he was trainer when I played in 1989-90. He was the first person to come and introduce himself to me when I joined the club and was so excited that he had played with dad. The most wonderful man that god ever put breath into. Sincere condolences to the Tucker family. Rest in Peace Pug, a true legend of the club, Phil Caris x

The stuff you said sounds very typical of Pug, your talking about last century and it was credit to him that after all those years he never changed, the warmth, friendliness, loyalty a genuine bloke who had the old school Port Melbourne values. I remember after a AGM he saw me and put his arm around my shoulder and wouldnt let go, i felt very humbled that a club legend was showing such humility to a mere layman like myself.
Aj he was mate, i hear a lot at our club and just like each club character descriptions arent always positive but Pug was one that ive only heard positive stuff about. To think he was involved for over 70 years makes you doubt that thell be many (if any) of this current generation who would show such loyalty in any endeavour.
