Unfortunately the weather has ruined any chance of good footy and a decent crowd. Maybe the VFL should bite the bullet and play the GF at Telstra Dome ( could even ask the AFL to chip in LOL) next year where the fans and players dont have to put up with Melbournes shit spring weather. Most likely cost about 10,000 people today at princes park x $20 = $200,000 easy enough to pay the extra for TD apart from that todays game looks dreadfull on TV both the crowd and the game..Not a good avert for the state #1 League.

The weather was bloody terrible.. I bumped into Footyman who was pointing out what a disaster it would have been if the game had been played at Port Melbourne. Well done Sandringham, Geelong gave a bit of a yelp in the last that must have scared the hell out of the Zebras. Sautner.. How can the umps not wise up to him? He took a dive early in the first quarter, and even got another kick after a goal in a similar fashion to the 2004 Grand Final!

* It's time to restore the VFA name.

Strong winds are probably worse at affecting the atmosphere than rain. We had a lot of both. But I thought the last quarter in particular was pretty exciting.

Considering how bad the forecast was, and how bad the weather was at Midday when people would have been deciding to go or not, the crowd was very good. In saying that it hardly felt like a Grand Final, the worst atmosphere I think I have ever experienced at a game of footy. Obviously the weather played a part in it but it was "soulless" out there today. As for the Sautner free kick, dreadful. One of a few ordinary decisions made on the day.

Sautner has turned into a big girl, how about trying to play Football instead of facking injury biggest softy going around in football

Despite the weather a great crowd turned up. Congrats to Box Hill on winning the reserves flag after the hail storm arrived at quarter time they the conditions better and fully deserved their victory. Giving the seagulls their only of the season. Sandy clearing deserved to win despite Geelong making a game of it in the last quarter. Sandringham were the better side on the day. They were 2 good games in the conditions. Looking forward to 2007 Grand Final back at Port Melbourne.

Sautner's free? It was a deplorable decision but so was the free given to Crowe in the last quarter. But Sandy deserved it. Congrats to a great club

What is it now, six consecutive reserves Grand Final appearances for three wins and three losses. Probably given their dominance should have a better record than that. They were 2 good games in the conditions. Looking forward to 2007 Grand Final back at Port Melbourne.[/quote] Yeah and if the weather is like it was today, fantastic. They had the VFL marketing manager Peter Harley on Casey Radio yesterday morning and basically the indication was Port was a no go for the Grand Final. Two reasons - one was the capacity is about 7,000-8,000 and secondly the VFL want to INCREASE the attendance on Grand Final day, to the point where they might get 15,000-20,000 so going to Port would be a backward step he said. Best bit of sense I've ever heard from someone at FV. You only had to go to the food outlets today or the toilets at half time to recognise that Princes Park handled capably the numbers of people. Imagine everyone trying to squeeze into the dunny at Port, you'd miss a quarter of the game waiting in the line. Not to mention the quarter it would take pushing back through the people to get to your viewing spot. Or everyone trying to buy a Meat Pie from the ONE canteeen...there was what three or four today at Carlton? And there were still long lines. Playing a Grand Final at Port is romantic, but it is lunacy and the fact people keep talking it up shows how dumb some people are. People should dead set move on.
