Roos/Devils alliance
I am interested to know peoples reaction to the Roos/Devils alliance. There was definately a mixed reaction down here, due to some talented young locals missing out. Personally I like the idea and some people might change thier minds if we can have a succesful year. Success will be gauged on bringing home the premiership in the next couple of years- nothing less.

I give the alignment 2 years.. max. The costs will start to catch up with North Melbourne flying players to Tasmania every second week. North were getting a cheap deal playing with Port Melbourne. Roos players forcing Tassy locals out of the side dimishes the identity of the Devils, and potentially adds weight for the push for a Northern Tasmanian side entering the VFL. With the Roosters.. well, you have already seen a lot of the clubs leadership group move on. Will be interested to see if crowds go up or down at Austar Arena this season.

I don't think the cost will becoem an issue as for Tassie it should actually be about cost neutral. Whilst they have to players over to Tassie for home games, they actually have to bring less from Tassie for away games as the North players are already in Melbourne. Without wanting to upset North too much (sorry Ons) where there is smoke there is fire, and I would expect to see North relocate in the near future, wither to Canberra or the Gold Coast. It is simply a matter of time, and North Ballarat will be left in the cold (sorry for the pun). Tassie will survive without North as to this point it has not had much of an impact on their list. It may oin time, but they will probably pick up a flag or 2 in the meantime.

With Johnathon Hay being dropped from the Devils side, and left not playing Football at all this weekend... Surely the Roos will be looking for some kind of change to the make-up of the alignment? I can't see them being to thrilled with him sitting the weekend out... In the future might the AFLPA allow a player to be released back to a local club in this situation?

Whisper floating around that Tassie will give North Melbourne the boot leaving North Ballarat to go alone with North. Not sure the roosters want that. Tassie supporters are not happy as is some of the Tassie players. How can you delvop kids when hacks like Hay run around. Against Williamstown they had no sole whatsoever. Huge difference between the stand alone Tassie and this years Tassie. I know they have had a few injuries but something is missing big time. Time to give the Roos the flick Tassie and do what you did succesfully over the previous seasons. They might not have won the flag but it is not the end of the world. Having a competitive team, playing locals with a bit of experience from the mainland and a bit of passion goes a long way. What do you think Tassie should do ???

Tassie should go on their own ,thats why Port Melbourne got out of the alliance with the kangaroos ,while Laidley is coach of the roos they will have to play their problem players . Tassie better off playing their young players. It is a V.F.L competion not a A.F.L. Reserves competion. They will be dictated by Laidley to play their players in a certain positions at the expense of one of their promising players. The same thing happened when the kangaroos were with Port Melbourne. Go Borough!

That is a fact about laidley & it is no cop out .Just ask Saadhi Gazhi. Laidley didnt careabout Port Melbourne team structure only about the kangaroos. If you think laidley is good how come Frankston didnt go into a alliance with the kangaroos. Go Borough!
