I have sent out an email to everyone, with the hope that a few of you can help me out. The email was sent to the address that each user used to create an account here. Once I have received your email with the word "register", I will send out an email with an HTML form. After ticking the appropriate winner for each game in the round, click the submit button. It should then send the email back to me. I will compile the results in an Excel spreadsheet, and post the ladder each week on the main news page. This trial will run till Friday night (27th Feb), and I will let you know how well it has worked and what changes will need to be made.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my mail-out asking for testers. Due to the fact that more people than I had expected have replied. I will not be sending out more mail for the time being. It seems to be working well. Now I just need to smooth out the back-end for collating the tips. More news soon.

Well I was sort of hoping to have a prize for the comp donated, but it didn't eventuate.. So.. it lokos like it will be purely for the honour of winning it. Oh well. Two weeks before the first round, I will make a public post, outlining the rules of the comp, and how it will work. Tips will need arrive at my inbox no later than 5:30 PM that Friday. Now .. Email can take quite a few minutes to arrive at tipping@vflfooty.com (which is an alias that gets bounced back from the US), so I would suggest sending them out by 5:00PM to be on the safe side. More news soon!

Just a quick update.. a preliminary "Rules" page has been written up, I will post it up here for comment tonight, so that people can help me iron out any flaws in the system.

By now some of you should have received Round 1s tipping form. As well as email the tips out, I will host a page on the website allowing people to put their tips in (including future rounds for those people who might be absent during the season). I realise the system is a bit confusing, but it should do the job.

I didn't get an e-mail, with the tipping form, I think my e-mail has gone stupid, or something.

Resent it to your email address Prototype. If you didnt receive an email regarding the tipping competition (which is for registered members only) The web page with all 20 rounds should be up by tomorrow.
Hi everyone, I am writing to you to announce that the the VFL Tipping competition is now open. This competition is open to registered members of VFLFooty.com only. To Register for the competition, you will need to send an email to tipping@vflfooty.com from the email address you used to register your VFL Footy username. In the email enter the word "register" in the subject line and type in a tipping password in the main body. (I will use the password as verification each round) The Monday prior to each round, I will send out an email tipping form. In that form you will need to enter your email address, tipping password and your tipping selections. Then simply press the submit button embedded in the email. Now here is the important bit… I will only accept your first submission! if you submit twice for the round, I will only be reading your first email. So tip carefully :) The closing time for each weeks tipping is Friday at 5:30PM. I will not accept tips after this time. There can be a delay in the time it takes for email to reach the tipping@vflfooty.com address, so I suggest you make sure you have the email sent by around 5PM, otherwise you might miss out. The tipping results of each round will be posted on the news page showing the ladder positions. Good Tipping! - David * Fine Print: This competition (at this stage) has no prizes, so it is being run purely for bragging rights. Those of you that registered for the trial will need to re-register You will receive a zero for any round that you do not submit tips. - VFL Footy Staff
I think what happened is, that Hotmail had the e-mail as "Junk Mail" so it went to my Bulk Mail filter. Which I hadn't checked, so it must of deleted it, so I put your address on "Not Junk" so now I should be able to get mail without having it get deleted by Hotmail. Well that is what I am hoping anyway.

Could well have.. because it was addressed to you in the BCC field, so that you dont see other peoples addresses when I send it to multiple recipients.
