Full credit to a fighting win by the Tigers over an un-impressive Port Melbourne.
In terribly windy conditions.. the game became a tight struggle in the last quarter, the tigers ran out winners after making Port play for some poor disposal of the football inside 50.
To ports credit they fought their way back into the game, although Werribee should really have put the Borough away, as they had more of the ball but added only 1 goal in the second quarter.
The last quarter was a mistake-riddled 30 minutes as Port levelled the scores at 64 points each, were unable to take the lead with some costly errors.
Werribee quickly moved the ball in the dying seconds to take a mark about 35 metres out on a 45 degree angle. The game was put beyond doubt when an umpire paid a 50m penalty putting the player into the goalsquare.
