I am a daughter of a player who played 169 games with Caulfield in the 60's and 70's. He played in the 1973 2nd division grand final against Brunswick. I would love to get the footage from the game if anyone has it. I am willing to pay for it. My dad dedicated his life to the bears and it would mean a lot to me to get him a copy for a gift.
I have heard of him.
The 1973 VFA GF was a ripper of a game with the bears thanks to 2 long goals from Tony Jewell snuck home.

The DVD I have of the game goes for around 70 minutes and it is the second half.
It is not bad for a game as rare as the 1973 VFA GF.
I know there is also the 1972 VFA GF floating around somewhere which was between Caulfield v Geelong West and the roosters beat Caulfield narrowly in front of over 15,000 people. Hopefully I can locate this game where your dad would have played in this game as well.
That is fantastic. Dad has mentioned the game against Geelong West. He said it attracted more people to the game than the VFL game (Geelong-Richmond)played a couple of days earier. There is a book coming out, they called dad and interviewed him. He loves talking about the old days. I grew up with the club so it will be great to see Dad in action.

Good work, there's some top games there. 1982 tends to be a forgotten classic, played out between 2 clubs who at the time had the best VFA squads you could ever imagine. I'll send you an email.

Am I correct in that he was known as "Dixie"?
