I've just finished the third book in the history of Port Melbourne football club series. Terry Keenan has done a superb job with the book, and I'd encorage any Port Melbourne supporter and football fans generally to get their hands on a copy.
It doesn't paint a pretty picture on the future direction of the competition or the club towards the end of the book, and the tough run of the 50s, and the dominance of the 70s and early 80s are expertly covered... A great insight for those of us not alive, or too young to appreciate the signifance of some of these events in the clubs rich history. (I never knew Port Melbourne played a home game in Wagga Wagga!)
It's a bit of a shame that the events of 2008 don't make it into the book, as it might have been a more positive note to end on.
