No doubt the team envirionment and feeling apart of a stable side would have been considered in his decision. If he really wanted money he could have went interstate or to many local leagues.
I have seen so many players thrive once they get to Port and play their best football. Id expect Rose to be the same and have a similar impact as Robin Nahas did in 2008.
One thing I will say Digs is that your right in that many footballers do see coming to Port Melb as a great opportunity. But how many Port Melb players do you see leaving and going to other VFL clubs?? I can only think of 1 or 2 in the past 5 years..... There must be a reason!
Sorry mate but it is not on field success.
Personally I think that in Rose's case it is a poor reflection on what type of person you are.
Can you imagine what the reaction from Port supporters would be if "Shooter" McMahon were to cross the west gate bridge, all & sundry would be filthy. The same applies to Williamstown supporters, who are entitled to be bloody furious.
As I said previously that there must be more to this than we know about. Interesting about his web site history.
Digs we have been in that position Bill Swan a dual liston trophy winner and premiership player also the father of Collingwood's Dane Swan crossed to Williamstown in 1989 because he wanted extra money and Port wouldn't give it to him so Williamstown offered him what he wanted. So we have had that pain.
Go Borough! 2011
This is great news for Port.
We need to build a really strong Stand Alone team like in 2008 and really punish the other teams get some respect back and go one step further and try and get the flag something which has been missing for nearly 28 years which is not good enough.
It's time the Port Melbourne team of 2010 make there own History i know we can do it.
Station, I don't think anybody had ever lost respect for the Port melbourne Football Club, but unfortunately the same can't be said about Patrick Rose. !!!
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
I watched Patrick closely in the final at Box Hill and thought that he looked very pissed off about something all day.
Probably being played out of position.
Asked to do too much?
I think I could come to love him!

I reckon there's more to this than we know about.
Would not be surprised if there were some issues with the current coach. Wally will reveal all in the coming weeks.
I might sponsor him this year!!
A couple of years ago now. He got called out, banned, and hasn't been back since.
I can't even remember his username - was it Bear something?
Didnt seem to bother you Dale when playing for willy, you didnt jump up and down, but as he has seen the light, lets put petrol on him and light a match.

Put your money into a good young home grown product with a bit of loyalty & integrity.
Forget about Wally, from one who knows Rosey is very high maintenance
If you would have watched him over the past three years in the finals you would have seen the same attitude.
current coach has no time for b....sh...t.
Good Luck with him at Port, hope you can get something out of him when it counts ie finals.
Look out Dean, Rosey is back to argue with.
You will have to fill them with grog as MMMMMM is the word

Pigs arse it didn't bother me, and when it was revealed who owned that user name, I was even more disgusted. I even offered to take him up on his 'challenge'.
Since that incident, I had no time for him, and have even less now.
As I said earlier, a perfect fit at Port. Should take over from where Steven Lawrence left off!
Come on Dale, tip the bucket on him.
Fill all of us Johnnie come lately's in on what he did ???
