The Sandringham Football Club is pleased to announce Danny Corcoran has been elected as the club’s next president he will officially assume the role from current president Gerry Ryan on Sunday, April 13.
Danny comes with a wealth of sports management experience, he has previously worked as the Football Manager at Melbourne where he was instrumental in creating the first AFL/VFL alignment between Melbourne and Sandringham, the alignment was one of great success for both clubs with Sandringham winning four premierships between 2000 - 2007. Danny also spent six years at Essendon in the early 1990s and was Athletics Australia’s chief executive during the Beijing Olympic Games and in 2010 he became the inaugural general manager of rugby operations at the Melbourne Rebels. After being a Bayside resident for the past 15 years and having a passion for Real Estate Danny has recently joined Hodges Real Estate in Brighton as a Property Consultant.
Gerry, who has been a member of the club for more than 20 years, has served as president since 2006. During his term of office, the club has won a Premiership, had over $1 Million spent on redeveloping the social club and had another million dollars spent on lengthening and completely resurfacing the ground. Gerry leaves with our best wishes in his new career and he will remain a dedicated Zebra member.
