Ben Cavarra wins Dolphins Best and Fairest

Ben Cavarra has won the Dolphins senior best and fairest at tonight's function held at Sandringham Football Club. He also won Best 1st year player. Nic Newman was runner up. Shane Hockey was 3rd, Josh Tynan 4th and Leigh Kitchin 5th.

Sam Fox won Development League best and Fairest with Brayden Irving runner up.

It was announced officially tonight that Simon Goosey will no longer be coach at the dolphins.

Outstanding debut season for Cavarra, no certainty that he will be drafted but can't see why he won't be a decent AFL player.

He reminds me quite a bit of Danyle Pearce, having seen them both as teenagers, and I have little doubt he can do as well as Pearcey at AFL level.

Well done to all award winners from last night and thanks to the Zebras for having us!

Was Simon Goosey at the function?

Sandy. The most successful club in the past 30 years

Yes, handed out awards and Im told he was a class act given the circumstances.
