A very encouraging game, after a poor start, Port finished very strongly to post a good win. Gill rucked for most of the first quarter, but dominated when shifting to the forward line, kicking three goals and typically working very hard at ground level. If he can keep injury free he could be in for a very big season. Robbie "Banger" Alexander continues to impress working very hard on the wing. Colbert was very good across the half-back line and directed play.

Ive seen him the last two weeks (he played in the reserves today) and I only got to pay attention to the last quarter of twos, but (from memory) he did well, especially during a piece of play in front of me on the wing, where he was up against two Tigers players and came out with the footy, which earned him some praise from Saadee Ghazi at 3/4 time. In other news Port lost Kondarovkis as he is travelling overseas, and Nick Trentfield is apparently playing county cricket in England. Sam Troon has gone to play for a suburban club (cant remember who) which is a shame as he looked set for a strong season. I'd like to know more about a Giansiracusa who played for us today .. dont know the first name, but he did well and I wondered if he was any relation to Daniel. Lachlan Longmire was good in defence in the twos.

Thanks for that ons , also interested to know what has become of the two guys ( Atkins and Phibbs ?) who lost their appeals re Frankston. Are they back at Port ?

Glen Robertson and Ben Phibbs.. havent seen them at the club. We must have finalised our list and jumper presentation is Tuesday night.

They were watching Frankston yesterday. I expect the will sit out of VFL for a year and then play there in 2005. There is some discussion that Josh Gibson also had a transfer knocked back, but took the VFLs decision on the chin and remains at Port. Can you follow that one up Onslaught?

As a port melbourne player i am happy to say Josh Gibbson (gibbo) is more than happy to stay at port melbourne. We recently had a honesty session with a SOG police man that took us on a training camp the previous 2 weeks ago and gibbo show alot of emotions when explaining to the playing group everything about the situation of him possible going to box hill. with the emotion he showed it showed all of us he is very comited to staying at port melbourne and made stonger relationships with playing and coaching staff after the training camp and honesty session which was held in the rooms after training![u][/u]

Why do people talk about Gibson on this site so much?? An average VFL reserves footballer at best. Not being nasty, just think he is over-rated

Well he isn't a superstar, but he gives 100% and has reasonable skills. I guess we will have a better idea of where he is as a footballer if he gets through the season injury free.
