RELIABLE DEFENDER FAULKS RETIRES

Reliable Williamstown defender Peter Faulks has announced his retirement from VFL football after 112 games.

Faulks played 94 games for the club in his eight seasons at Williamstown. Faulks also spent three seasons at Fremantle.

A 2015 Premiership player, a state representative and a VFL Team of the Year recipient, Faulks will go down as one of the clubs most respected players.

Faulks was a mainstay in defence throughout his time at the Club along with developing others around him a playing assistant coach during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

An interrupted 2018 season kept him to 10 games but continued to play his role in defence.

His ability to read the play and footy smarts to intercept a number of inside 50 entries by opposing clubs saw him play an invaluable role with the defensive group and maintain his statue as one of the best defenders in the competition.

“Peter was a fantastic servant to the Club and was one of the VFL’s premier defenders, we thank him for his contribution through his journey with us. Pete is looking to the next stage of his life outside of footy and we wish him the very best with his future endeavours” said GM-Football Stephen Soulsby.

Congratulations to Faulksy on a fantastic career.
