I was down there for the first half of the reserves, Jason Ritterman kicked his three goals in that half and had a ton of the ball, Toby Conroy was really in the play a lot, Stephen Ott continues to impress with his tapwork in the ruck and Chad Liddell made his return to footy for a short period. The only Demon listed player was Joel Campbell (Rookie). There were a lot of players who had been used as 'senior' players during the recent practice games and I think that has helped their preparation for the season. But geez it was hot down there! In the seniors I have the teamlist, 15 on that were Demons and 9 Zebras. Not sure if they all played though. Hopefully a final teamlist for Sandringham will be out tomorrow and I might do a bit of a preview of the squad if I get time.

Sandy did it easy, far too strong. Saunter kicked 7, but 4 came in the final term when Josh Thurgood was moved off him to have a rest. Thurgood did a superb job considering he was giving away over 30kg. Armstrong, McLean, Smith all very good for the Zebras, who look a strong outfit. This time last year I thought Box Hill were in real trouble, and they preceded to make the Grand Final! This year I fear the worst again. Very short down back (no Breese or Doug Scott yet) leaving kids to play on the big forwards. Lot of injuries at Hawthorn is affecting the depth of players available as well. Only Picioane to return next week you would think against a rampaging Port Melbourne, could be ugly. Then again, Hawthorn showed pre-season form means nothing! Brendan Bailey is going to be a very good player for Box Hill, Simon Taylor looks OK as well. Ressies are very inexperienced and will take time, lack of match preparation is hurting them.
