I think you may have jumped the gun. All the articles I've seen say they've decided against signing him, and the club itself has said so in a statement.
It's the right choice, morally and strategically. Tarryn Thomas was given a chance to change his ways with the backing of his AFL club, and he failed to change. It's extremely unlikely that a state league club could do any better, and while the Bullants don't have a women's team they would have female supporters and staff who I can imagine wouldn't feel at all comfortable with him at the club. He's also not worth the bad P.R that will come with signing him, especially when he'd jump to an AFL club as soon as he was allowed to without leaving any positive impact on the club.
What really disappoints me is Rohan Welsh's handling of the situation. Stating publicly that they were open to talking with him was a bone-headed decision, and now he's apparently on the brink of quitting over the board's decision not to recruit him. Hopefully if he leaves, the club will be able to find a decent replacement. But I fear the club is only going to face more problems as a result of doing the right thing.
It's for the best I think. If he wants to play footy I think he should go back to Tasmania and work on things there. If he fixes himself up in the meantime he could be a good get for the Tasmania Devils. IIRC he came from Launceston originally but he may be better off with a club that would need a player of his ability - and I'm looking at either Scottsdale or Deloraine.

Fairly certain it was on Facebook as a post by the Bullants themselves. I'll go back and search for it.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Attached.
I stand corrected! I must have misread the statement !

Well he's on a two week trial with Swan Districts out west.
Swan Districts have declined to sign him.
Yes - he lasted two days before a community backlash ended the trial. Looks like his football career is over.
