2021 memberships.

Hi all, just wondering which clubs even sent out memberships for next year?

I bought a couple of Port Melbourne memberships for family but they didn't arrive in time for Christmas.

I'm hoping the Bullants have a very solid backing from the public and a decent supporter base next year.

Yeah Port have been a little slow in recent years.  Normally the membership card has the fixture on it (which I do find very useful) and is a nice throwback to the classic cardboard folding membership cards I remember from my early VFA days.  Perhaps they are holding off for the fixture again (I hope not in this instance).

Got my Frankston membership card in post last Wednesday

Dont expect your Port Melbourne card to arrive until at least February - the club usually waits for the fixture to be released so they can print them on the back of the card. Alternatively you can get them directly from the club once they have them in stock which is my preferable purchasing option because then i dont have to worry if it gets lost in the mail, if its sent etc

First home game also sees many memberships sold infront of the ticket boxes.

Arj is that Frankston sticker you got with the membership complementary or is it a separate purchase ?

Meeting up with 4 other Port Melbourne members to see in 2021 tomorrow night, should be a great night. Whatever people get up to tomorrow enjoy but stay safe and all the best to everybody for the New Years.

I was out at dinner last night with 2 VFL media people and it appears theirs going to be changes to the way Port does memberships. If correct what i wrote above may be invalid this year. The change is that Port is only doing memberships online and will not be doing direct purchase / cash purchases from the club therefore the traditional sale of memberships at the front of the ground will be no longer neither will cash membership  purchases from the club during office hours.

I hope this information is incorrect / the club has a change of heart as i feel it limits option and many of the older and some younger folk may not like purchasing this way, i know my preference is direct from the club in person.

AJ - What level membership did you buy and how much is the didcount voucher (just out of curiosity).

Mega......just the standard red membership for an adult. The voucher is for $20 if you spend $200......which I'll definitely use at some point. $200 is a cheap trip to HN for me haha

I understand your concerns about Port's membership sales methods Mega, and agree. We support a team because we feel connected to "the club" and it helps to make a personal connection to anybody at the club whenever possible to enhance that belonging feeling. In our current state, I do get why they want to make it a less hands on experience, but to me it's fraught with danger as a long term method. Gotta keep supporters personally interacting with their clubs whenver possible.

Port dont make too many wrong decisions in the way the club is run, but if this is true, this is a major mistake. The more avenues you make available to people to purchase your product the better. Really cant belive this will happen.

Yes i was suprised as well Bearsman, the person who told me is GENERALLY good with his information however i hope he is incorrect on this occasion / the club has a change of heart. As i may have stated earlier, Port gets roughly 50 memberships on 1st home game by people just rolling up with cash - imagine telling them that they cant buy a membership due to internet purchases being the exclusive method for memberships.

AJ - You get great value with your membership, ive always wanted to see Port throw in a sticker with each membership but they charge $5 per sticker.  Ad to that the Harvey Norman voucher and its hard to believe that you have people on social media saying they are disgruntled for not being offered a discount to Frankston and Port due to being members of the cancelled 2020 season.
