Baird is a proven player at this level, and I still rate Thewlis as a good VFL player... Solid body, that could have a real impact at this level.

Has anyone heard these players mentioned around the traps? I would have thought both of them would be in high demand.
Both of them have a build that can have a big impact at State level.

Havnt heard anything on those two. Would think Bairdy would at least nominate for the upcoming drafts.
Apparently Michael Stevens is leaving the Roos. Hasnt been offered a contract yet so hes looking elsewhere.
A similar thing happened last year with Jeremy Clayton. He got delisted after the cut off date to nominate for the draft.
At least Stevens has got in before its too late.

Thewlis has signed with South Adelaide in the SANFL. Dont worry, he will be back in 1 - 2 years as south cant hold any recruits as they are shit. He would have been attracted by the money and the nice summer weather down at arctic park but by the time winter comes around, he will wish to be back in vic.

I went to school with Johnny Baird. He'd make a very good VFL defender for any club. I think North kept worse than him on this year.
He was worth an older prospect look-in at a few AFL clubs too methinks.

I think John Baird has signed with a SANFL club as well.

Interesting to see Thewlis being gotten rid of, he got very little game time at Sydney and would of thought he migtht of been given another opportunity by the Roos.
