Alleway to SANFL.
As reported on the Homepage, Allers has gone to North Adelaide. I'm officially sick of the SANFL. Huge loss as he is a terrific clubman and obviously our captain and a Vic Rep.

Massive loss for Box Hill, not just to lose a key position player like Alleway, but to have your club Captain go, thats harsh. He has been a critical part of the stangers side these last few years. Does the VFL need to increase the salary cap to stop losing quality players?

Blood money. He did the same thing to Port Melbourne, clubs pump up his tyres and he buys it.

What garbage. Why don't you think about why a captain would leave a club? He was offered pretty much the same money to stay in Victoria and it has nothing to do wit the Salary cap. The issue is whether clubs CAN afford to spend the salary cap/ I understand that his problem was the lack of a team concept at Box Hill and thats somethinmg that aligned clubs need to address, or stop whinging. You cant have it both ways. Box Hill have nobody to blame but themselves, and I'm pretty confident that they won't care becauyse it has no impact on Hawthorn. And as for him bleeding Port, as I recall he was only there on a Rookie list.

Yeah, I think it is disgusting that a club captain leave solely because the SANFL club paid more money. We had some SANFL clubs try to poach some of our players at Werribee mid season and our general manager in Mark Penaluna was absolutely fuming. There should be some restrictions placed on when clubs can talk to players they are interested in recruiting for the following season.

I wouldn't be too harsh on Alleway. There's a lot more to his exit than has surfaced, and don't be surprised if a fair bit more of the Box Hill list find themselves at Port or Frankston! It don't beleive that it was only about money.

Id love to know what kind of money these guys are being offered. It must be decent because its a big move to pack up and go interstate just to play in the SANFL. Its not like hes pursuing an AFL career any longer. Maybe Alleway will do a straight swap and Nick Gill will come back to Victoria and play at Port again...

CRAP!!! Don't think Al Clarkson is as supportive of Box Hill, think he's a tough little nuggett that wants his own way. Think about a VFL coach taking on Clarkson, he's little but he's a scary fellow. For Alleway to leave possibly because of lack of "team" emphasis, it's got me worried, after all, it's my team!

Given that he had a hand in getting Clint to make the move to Adelaide, there's no way he'd be heading home just yet.
