Bullants can beat Tassie!
By any definition Saturday's final against Sandringham was a debacle that for the most part is best forgotton. Despite that the club should never forget the importance of developing a strong VFL list and the Chris Heffernan incident! That doesn't mean the club should go running to the VFL or make public statements, football should do the talking. From my point of view by deciding to play outside the rules, Sandringham effectively declared 'war' on the Bullants, which in the long run could be a good thing. Two finals apperances in 15 years has seen few clubs take the Bullants seriously, but as this changes the Bullants must cope better with big game pressure. The game was a carbon copy of the 2003 reserves grand-final; big expectations shattered within a quarter or so. Hopefully the experience will do the club good and eventually we will learn to cope with the added pressure of finals football. Lots of clubs struggle at first finals appearance but it can turn around quickly. Look forward to the game against Tassie this week, we should get some VFL players back as well as a few from Carlton. If all are fit I would make eight changes, brining in Adam Bentick, Simon Wiggins, Digby Morrell, Justin Davies, Troy Longmuir, David James, Brett Gutterson and Jason Harmes. Luke Livingston is ineligable, would drop Sam Pleming, Jess Smith, Jordan Russell, Nick Fallu, Michael Mitchell, Brent Colbert and Chris Bryan. Would leave Bryan out due to team balance. My team would look something like this J.Vansittart S.O'Hailpin D.Clarke S.Wiggins K.Norman J.Bannister G.Bowyer J.Davies D.Donoghue F.Raso T.Longmuir C.Chambers M.Hooper D.Morrell R.Young J.Crow R.Williams, D.James, B.Gutterson, J.Harmes B.Johnston A.Bentick

This is FINALS football ,which if you hadnt noticed is WAR so if your side cant handle the heat they shouldnt be there. Stop whingeing, you were done like the proverbial dinner so get over it. You will most likely get well beaten by Tassie as well on your form and mindset.

Tassie will fix up Preston this Sunday. On what I saw of the Bullants against Sandy they would have to improve out of sight. Who does Barry Mitchell think he is playing 16/17 Carlton players week in week out and all of a sudden they play 12/10 rule. Tassie will make it eleven straight and set up a Prelim with the Bees. Plapp has made a huge difference and given the Devils a target. Callinan, Beams can kick goals. Ken Hall shows heaps of dash and Jovanovic is solid. Ben Atkin is a good player for the devils. Hard at it Tassie will be far too good in front of a vocal and large home crowd. Preston have improved on last few seasons but will need to improve the VFL list on not rely on Carlton.

In Mitchell's defence, there has been 18-22 Carlton players available most weeks. Generally 3-4 have played in the seconds most weeks. And really I can't think of any player that could have been considered hard done by. It's been different to the situation in the early stages of last year when Josh Vansittart and Luke Stevenson were playing reserves while ordinary Carlton listed players were getting regular games and alot of ground time as well. But it's universally agreed that the Bullants need a better list, hopefully some of the Northern Knights players will come through next year. Not one this year and only a handful last year has made the list very thin.

Mitchell is employed by Carlton, each game played is for the benift of C.F.C,(BULLANTS)dont care about the finals Carltons season is over,so Bullants are just going threw the motions, they will be out this week and lucky to kick 7 goals.

Bullants will be lucky to have any impact this week against Tasmania. The problem they have had this year and was commentated on before the final series, is the fact that they were averaging 15 AFL players every week and not too much VFL talent. Different story for us down at Werribee, where we averged only 8 Bulldogs players per week.

Very negative responces there, guys. Look at the game this week - the Bullants will be a different outfit. Unfortunately Morrell will not be playing - he was injured early last week for Carlton and was a very dejected figure on the bench for most of the game. He REALLY wanted to show the Roos he had what it takes. This week should show an improved effort in the midfield in particular - Bentick and Davies get the ball a fair bit. The ruck is a different issue.
