[quote:6ed2c009b6="iceman"]I think you'll find that 'technically' the current PAM have nothing to do with that of the Port Adelaide Magpies that won all of those flags, other then colours and home ground. But anyway I was only stirring, well done to Clayton, a fine footballer who should be playing higher.
Iceman, If you get the chance to check out the Port Adelaide clubrooms & social facilities at Alberton you will find that you are technically "incorrect". They would hang you over there for making a statement like that.
Only the Port people Would digs and Iceman .The rest of us cant stand them  I personaly would have been happy with no PAM after they entered the AFL. But go to alberton to watch a SANFL game .you buy your Grand stand ticket from a lady sitting in the power dinning room at a card table. If they were truly the same side it would be better run .[/q Micky, Love them or hate them but you have to admire them. The magpies have a history of success that we would all kill for. I can fully understand other clubs in the SANFL disliking them. When you think of all the great Port magpies champions like Ebert, Cahill, Fos Williams etc, Jeremy Clayton,s 4 time consecutive B&F must rate him up with the greats. With maybe more to come.

Its a pity that my beloved WWT have slipped this year .After decades of being a fan of West Torrens and being bottom it was very nice to make the finals 10 yrs in a row.I just blur out the GF losses to Centrals

Ballarat's The Courier reports today that Jeremy Clayton will end his football career at the end of this SANFL season. The item gives a list of his achievements in his "illustrious football career".

Tha Ballarat Courier was incorrect stating that Jeremy never played in a premiership, in fact he was a very influential player in the North Ballarat Rebels premiership team in 1997.
A magnificent career unequalled in any comp by any other player. Just got me stuffed as to why he never played more AFL.
Certainly the best player I have seen at the Roosters since joing the VFL.

Jezza was a great players. won his Magrey Medal while in hospital after injuring his spleen in a finals match - thats guts

For the record the PAM are the original club formed in 1870. The AFL club is a franchise owned by the SANFL formed in 1996. the PAM annual reports are continuous from 1870 and in the SA state library.

West Torrens formed 1895 (merged woodville 1991)
Port Melbourne formed 1874
