FORMER Hawthorn midfielder Travis Tuck will try to relaunch his AFL career at VFL club Werribee.

The discarded 23-year-old signed with the North Melbourne-affiliated Tigers this morning but must sit out the first two months of the season after he became the first player suspended for recording three strikes under the AFL’s illicit drugs policy.

Werribee coach Paul Satterley said the Tigers hoped his eight-game VFL sanction would be reduced to six because Tuck played in both of Hawthorn’s NAB Cup lightening matches.

The Tigers, who have a bye in Round 7, will seek clarification from the VFL but want Tuck available for their Round 8 clash against the Northern Bullants
