Adam Cockie is also a premiership player 2 seasons ago in W.A .with Claremont would also come into consideration.
Selwood has been up and down, but Gleeson going ok and not that far off best form. I think the VFL regardless of who they pick should win this contest by 5 or 6 goals in WA.
Regardless of "who they pick" smacks of arrogance. This team must be picked on form & not be tempted to pick names on past performances.
The Vics were sensational last time in WA, but it would be foolish to think that the result will be the same. It might be a lot closer than you think.
Gleeson has been named only once in the best players so far this season.
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
Seen the Cats the last two weeks and Ben Raidme has been good. His stats for the other games indicate he's having a good year.
Sikora was average against Box Hill although he was named in the best. Ruck is a difficult one to chose, Skipper battled last year and for the most part Cameron Wood plays second fiddle to Tom Campbell. Nick Meese has spent time in reserves when carlton have had all ruckman available.
Sewell, Clifton and Marigliani the only players in the squad who were in the 2010 team that beat WA. Players still in the VFL that played in the 2010 team are Stockdale, Pederson, Stephenson, Curnow, Pinwill and Simpkin.
Aren't Pederson, Stephenson, Curnow & Simpkin now AFL listed players ??
Had an idea Breust from Hawthorn was also in that side.
Correct digs, I was referencing players who"d been playing VFL this year regardless of whether AFL listed. A bit lazy on my part. Bruest was in a fwd pocket, and I missed Kris Pendlebury who was on interchange.
Preview if you call it that from ABC WAFL Coverage
4th meeting between these 2 sides
VFL have won all 3 games
2004 VFL 10-9(69) def WAFL 8-10(58) at Leederville Oval
2007 VFL 25-11(161) def WAFL 5-12(42) at Northport Oval
2010 VFL 20-11(131) def WAFL 11-11(77) at Leederville Oval
2004 & 2010 coached by Gerard Fitzgerald.
2007 coached by Mark Williams.
Could be a bit of pressure on Garrrrry !!!
No pressure as the Gary Ayres coached VICS will win. Not sure of the margin but should be good enough to get over the line.
Margin won't be anywhere near the 2007 game though.
