Missing footy already!

As a footy tragic, the long wait for next season begins now.

Aside from Cricket there's not too many distractions and the next week's and months will be that frustrating time searching for scraps of information in the local papers and online.

The AFL grand final was a massive anti-climax too. By 3/4 time we had filed out of the pub and we're just having kick to kick on the street.

Footy never goes North Port. Plenty of old VFA replays to watch.
You can watch Camberwell v Coburg with your spare time. The cobras win that game.

Terrible AFL GF unless you are a Hawthorn supporter. At least the beer was nice and cold in the Bullring Bar MCC Members. Swans got thrashed by the biggest margin ever in a GF for a side that has finished minor premiers. Langford plays well and Hodge deserved Norm Smith. Millionaire swans to slow and lethargic.
At least the VFL GF was close.

Only real footy news in the next few weeks is to see what happens in 2015 regards to ABC or Seven mate. Will ABC pull the pin and if so will Seven Mate jump on board.

Northport, are you playing cricket for Port this year. I may roll my arm over again at McKinnon if they're short of numbers.

Undecided at this stage JB. I may make an appearance once or twice during the season.

Must say I dont mind the off season to catch up on other things and do that bit of overtime at work. However,in summer I am a part-time football supporter too as I follow a bit of NTFL footy and sponsor a player up there too.

The only problem with the off season is that you have to put up with the game that they have the cheek to call "cricket".
Once a great game spoiled by over paid under talented spoilt brats in competitions that you wouldn't cross the road to watch.

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

Off season is far more relaxing. A bit of lawn bowls, a bit of cricket at the MCG (prefer tests than one dayers or the twenty 20 crap), spring carnival (never miss going to the Cup and Oaks Day). I go to the odd country or picnic race meeting.

Watch old VFA games when there is nothing on the idiot box but pretty quiet time and have some relaxing weekends when you can just chill out.

Only cricket I watch is local cricket if mates are playing, otherwise no real interest in the game.

NFL, NBL and test cricket will fill the summer in for me. I'm feeling pretty disillusioned with football so much that I am thinking of taking up baseball next winter.

I'll spend a fair bit of time watching those three as well comeng. And if you re really disillusioned, become a Dolphins fan, the boys on the hill will get you back in the swing!
