"The experience with the new surface at Frankston last year suggests that this alone will be a major issue for you. A new surface takes time to bind, and the grass structure might look good on the surface but shifts and chops up significanlt more than established turf. So this will take time."
On the Scorpions website sting44 made the following comment this week:
"I checked out the surface at No 1 oval last Monday and it is first class. The Williamstown players also complemented the surface at No 2 oval."
I understand that the VFL oval (called the No 1 oval by sting44) has an even better surface than the No 2 oval which is where the match against Williamstown was played.
Hopefully Casey Fields will exceed Dolphin's expectations.
