Werribee v Williamstown (Round 1)

WERRIBEE 19.10.124 WILLIAMSTOWN 7.14.56 Werribee were especially good in the 2nd and 4th quarters when they had the breeze at their back. Brad Murphy kicked four goals for Werribee, McMahon and Skipper three each. I thought Andrew Williams played well for Williamstown - of course he's the player who played in Williamstown's 2003 Premiership side despite not playing for them in any other game. Boith teams consisted of 14 AFL (inc Rookies) and 8 VFL listed players. WERRIBEE 13 5 83 WILLIAMSTOWN 8 16 64 Was a pretty close game with Werribee running away with a few goals at the end.

Williamstown was wasteful in front of goal in the 1st term kicking 2.7.19 The seagulls were forced to play very wide, while Werribee were more direct. The Footscray listed players were far more effective. The game was all over by half time. Werribee will be one of the leading teams this season. Williamstown will no doubt bounce back against Box Hill next week. They badly missed full forward Marcus Baldwin. Obviously will miss Josh Mahoney and Adrian Fletcher this season. Will need a few of the Collingwood kids to come up as well as some of the victorious premiership players from the Reserves.

G'day Could anyone comment on how the young Bulldog listed players performed ( Tim Walsh , Cameron Faulkner , Farren Ray ) against Williamstown. Thanks.
