I am an ex Oakleigh player (Russell Curtain) who played full back on Gary Hammond for Oakleigh in the 1979 GF loss to Camberwell. I was a 19 y/o who was awarded Oakleighs best player on the day and subsequently made vice captain the following year (David Wenn was captain). In that game I was actually hit in the head with a full can of beer thrown fron the crowd. I fell to the ground and suffered some concussion. The can was thrown at Gary hammond by an ex Oakleigh player!!!
I retired at the end of 1980 with approx 65 senior games at the age of 20
I am trying to find a copy of the GF of which I have never seen. This would be the only footage that I know of me playing and would love to show to my two boys now aged 20 and 17.
Any help would be appreciated
