So who holds the licence? Sandringham Football Club or the St Kilda Football club?or jointly?
I thought It might be too good to be true In any case all the ego driven pepole on the board and the ones in AFL Victorias pay will fight tooth and nail to hold their positions and destroy whats left of the Sandringahm Football Club along the way.
BTW clarry what side of the fence are YOU on?because in two or three years time there will be no SFC as we have known it and if St Kilda start up their own reserves at Moorabbin where to the SFC?.
billy are you a wanker or a dickhead ? do you realy think we would not stand alone if we could if left up to the likes of people like you we would be history.the agreement states and i quote either party hes to give 12 months notice by the 31st OF MAY to end the alignment so billy if you have a problem with that please see ROBBO in the beer booth tomorrow and he will notify john mennie and dennis gallimberti that you wish to speak to them?
Whilst the abolishment of the DL has been mooted for several seasons, is it not possible for this to be "exceptional circumstances" which would justify a split between Sandy and St Kilda at the end of 2017?
St Kilda may well accept a split if AFL Victoria grant them a new licence to run their reserves in the VFL. Grounds may be an issue but I dare say it's capable of being managed.
Otherwise, if cooler heads prevail, they should look to do what North and Werribee have done (ie. give 12 months notice of a split at the end of 2018) which would enable Sandy to mobilise off field throughout next season in preparation for going stand alone in 2019.
Same should/could occur at Box Hill, Casey and Northern. Twelve months notice to get your house in order, attract new sponsors, sign up new members and "do a Frankston".
ronny burger please dont buy into an argument you dont know about there is an agreement that needs to be worked through leave it there CLARRY
Rightyo - at least you didn't call me a dickhead.
For that I guess I should be thankful.
What a nasty piece of work you are clarry no need for the vitorol or did I hit sore point??So at least you answered the question Well it looks like we are trapped with St Kilda for another long unsuccessful year!
billy SHUT UP you are a wanker who knows nothing of whats going on CLARRY
Unfortunately it's not all that simple. Whilst it's great that we have a group willing to take over and pump money into the club, some hurdles have to be overcome first.
The meeting next week will determine what happens. The ideal outcome is that St Kilda agree to end the alignment early. Now I'm not sure who actually has the VFL licence. Sandy or St Kilda. The sticking point is the AFL saying that there will be no more licences issued for next year. So even if we have an amicable parting from St Kilda does this decision mean nothing if there are no licences available. If push came to shove, I'm sure St Kilda would get preference over Sandy. Does that then mean that we don't have a team in 2018 or do we still play in Sandy colours and supply top up players?
I doubt St Kilda would even be ready to have their own stand alone team next year. Moorabbin won't be ready. That's why I think it's unlikely that they'll agree to an early split.
So we may have a new group and committe in power at Sandy but not sure what they're going to be able to do when the licence issue has to be resolved

Thank you for that informative and intelligent summary of the critical issues.
Pretty much as I expected it to be, even though I apparently know nothing about it and am thus prohibited from making comments or suggestions according to one poster.
Easy there canhilllarry. Some of your recent posts have not been your most memorable. I know you are passionate about your club but no need to attack posters. This site is struggling for people and we need all the posters to get along otherwise it will be the end of vflfooty.com
