Lachie Waddell has announced his departure from the club due to increased work commitments.. A huge blow to our chances this season.
Another big loss to ad to the list along with Hereteku, Lange and Pearson. I feel it will be a bit of a battle this year for Port as it seems like theirs a quality deficit. I'm confident of a top 8 finish but top 4 may be pushing it unless the few remaining spots are filled with big signings.
The club won't be signing Dan Conners either. Seeing as their not signing Dan Conners, Id like to see a big name goal kicker come to the club as I think that would be a huge boost. In season 2019 Port had the 2nd most inside 50's in the comp - only premiers Richmond had more. Looking at the ladder positions it might be fair to say that the Borough didn't capatalise too well on their inside 50 opportunties.

Fair to say every club would love to land a big name goal kicker Mega but they don't grow on trees,as it is nearly February most blokes,if they're any good would be locked away already.
Do I detect a hint of resignation there in your Post. ?
Have all the gun BIG recruits signed last October & November suddenly gone cold.
You don't think Port went too hard & too early with their signings
We'll watch with interest. !
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
CGull - your probably right - at this stage it is unlikely that a big name goal kicker is going to sign. Having said that, perhaps I am being a little selfish as we already have teh 3 time league leading goal kicker, Conway who as we know when he is on - he is up their with the best of them and a few youngsters that show a lot of potential - Jake Gasper is one to look out for.
Digs - theirs certainly been some quality come to the club, all Im saying is when you weigh it up I think Port has probably lost more quality then they have gained - which suggests that they will be somewhat competitive but perhaps not as strong as previous years. Having said that I think it may depend alot on how much the youngsters develop. As this stage I think 5th - 8th I is the most likely scenario (in my Port arrogance its tempting to remind people that I have never got a Port Melbourne ladder prediction wrong in the past).
Glad I didn't say that.
Digs you did (and most likely will in the future) - just not this time :D
Port has added another youngster to their list in 19 year old Jerremy Lucas from Oakleigh Chargers.
Lucas represented the allies in last years under 18's. As a mid fielder I feel he may find it tough to get a regular game as he will up against some very strong players.
Their couldn't be too many spots left to fill and the list should be just about almost complete.
That must surely be the playing list complete MegaA. Only a couple of weeks to go until practice match 1. Its normally a fairly junior side that we field in the first couple of weeks.
If that's the list complete I wonder what people think of the recruitment this year ? I would probably rate it a B - , perhaps I would have had a higher rating if we could get a couple of proven goal scorers and a couple of more experienced proven players. On the positive Port has added a lot of big bodies where it was evident last year that we lacked when we played against the AFL sides.
I'm guessing Digs is happy with the recruitment as they didn't recruit any ex AFL players - he believes that getting players from the highest level is not beneficial. Digs I expect a A+ from you.
