Sorry mate the current AFLW standard has dropped a lot this year with the new clubs coming in and is hard to watch so I suspect the VFLW is even worse!

Each to their own Billy. My best advice is to appreciate it for what it is and don't attempt to compare it to men's footy. The women have started 120 years behind the men. I'll guarantee it won't take them 120 years to get to the level the men are at now. I'm a Swans supporter and we're a long way off it, but it is just a pleasure to watch the women running around and representing our guernsey. They'll improve quickly.

Sorry Mate, I reckon a good under 16 boys team would easily beat any of the women's teams their skill level is terrible esp kicking!

I just think is is a very poor advert for our great game and has had a very rushed start.

It would have been better to start with just the VFLW for a few seasons to get their skills right before jumping straight into a senior comp.

They will never get to the level men are no matter how much money you throw at the competition and no matter how much and the quality of training (dieticians, best coaches, sports science) etc etc. Genetics and physical make up ensure that the blokes will always be significantly better regardless how hard and dedicated the women are.

What i will say though is that the standard of VFLW is decent enough to make it entertaining and watching it live is a much better experience than on the t.v. Strange as it may sound the standard appears to be alot worse when watching on tv, hard to explain why but the Port games ive seen live and the one AFLW game ive gone to watch seem to be a lot better viewing at the ground. Perhaps one for the American show to explain - Mythbusters !

No, I know they'll never catch up to the men. What I was saying was they'll get to the level men are at now, maybe in 50, 60 years. By then the men will have advanced that far as well.

And yes, it is much better to watch live than on TV. But so are the men.

As a league up home once had as their motto, "it's just not the same if you're not at the game"
