Still no Nash Holmes? I'm not sure what the go is. He absolutely dominated in the first two rounds and was dropped after the Williamstown game and seems to be out of favour??
It looks like the rumours are true and Marcus Lentini has left and is going to run around in the Northern Footy League.
Aside from that it's a good side in and a good chance to set the season up nicely.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Ports injury list has Bennell rested for a week...
Mitch Riordan – Hamstring (1 – 2 Weeks)
Jack Johnston – Ribs (4 Weeks)
Lachie Modica – ACL (6 Months)
Cody Henness – Ankle (TBC)
Joel Cusack – Face (1 – 3 Weeks)
Joel Wilkinson – Finger (1 Week)
Harley Bennell – Managed (1 Week)

Both the VFL and VFLW games will be streamed / broadcast by Casey FM.

What does managed actually mean ? Rested in order to recover from soreness and tiredness instead of dropped due to performance?
I think pretty safe to say that Lentini is gone due to not being on the injury list or the emergency list. Being a key player I would have expected the club to make a official announcement.

Yeah, I think Lentini was out for concussion last week, but played for Montmorency this weekend.
I think he's gone.

This comment on bigfooty made the rounds on social media. Seems like a bit of a beat up to me...most likely posted by a mate currently playing elsewhere...just trying to stir the pot.

I reckon Port looked like a united unit these past couple of weeks so I reckon its probably all crap.

It's the hardest thing for me to cop as a supporter when a top line player from your side walks mid season and goes back to suburban footy, eg Nathan Freeman to Dingley and now Lentini from Port. It's bad enough when they are drafted or poached but seriously, this scenario makes me feel sick. I know in Freemans case he didnt see eye to eye with the coach about the game plan, and how they wanted him to play, and I see losing him as a failure by the coach in not being able to manage the situation and reach a compromise. The best coaches find solutions.
As a state level coach I'd be interested to hear Paul's thoughts on this...
Paul hasn't popped by for a while.
I'm wondering if that's the same with Nash Holmes.. We would have polled votes in the JJ Liston at the start of the season, but it's mysteriously now onlt listed as an emergency after being dropped following the loss to the Seagulls.

Unfortunately it looks like the online stream isn't working.
If others are trying catch up on the game remotely, give Casey FM a shot.

Nothing that Scrobolak does would surprise me. He did some very strange and arse about things things in his time at Frankston.
As I understand it Freeman fell out of favour with the senior playing group due to a number of factors. I was told the leadership group demanded buy in to doing things the team way.
While I don't know all the details of this situation by any stretch, in general terms it's best not to have someone at the club who isn't a genuine part of the group, no matter how talented they are. Culture is king. A tight-knit group will perform above themselves, a divided group the opposite.
Just finished watching the replay. The Borough will rue the slow start and missed opportunities in front of goal.
Anastasia's shot at goal as the siren sounded was a very tough chance and Port should have made more of earlier chances.
Naismith again proved a pivotal player for Port and aiming that we lose him to the mid season draft, I think our chances of playing finals footy might go with him.
A good crowd in attendance, especially considering the low supporter base of GWS.
