Adrian Lloyd steps down at Frankston
Body:

Hugely disappointing to receive an email from the Dolphins today informing members that Adrian Lloyd has stepped down as CEO. No replacement named as yet. Not great timing for the club. I hope this isn't a sign of more upheaval off the field.

In good news, the Dolphins have signed former St Kilda and Carlton 200-game player, Jack Newnes

AJ, I don't know about anything recently, but it wasn't a secret earlier in the year that Rocky would be finishing up at some point this year. He's not a young fella anymore!

His contract was due to expire in October.

Ah fair enough Paul.....disappointing to see him go, but as long as it's an amicable thing that's ok. The signing of Jack Newnes definitely softens the blow a bit, that's a very handy pickup for us. Hopefully he's gonna hang around for a while.

He didn't stay long at Greensborough

No Wally, he didn't.....that is a bit of a concern......I did a little searching on that issue and evidently it was a reasonably amicable parting of the ways. Newnes got a job on the peninsula somewhere and has a newborn baby at home. Evidently Greensborough was a bit too far away. If he's living and working down here, I guess it gives us a reasonable chance of keeping him around. Very much hope so, he could be the answer to a few of our prayers.

ok, that's good then and glad it wasn't a falling out with coach Ghazi - that just reminds me, what ever happened with Nathan Freeman? did he go off to SA?

He went to play at Dingley last I heard and was racking up ridiculous possession numbers there. One of many transients that could have helped make us a strong side.

He used to rack up 40+ with Frankston each week - far too good for a third level comp but probably getting well paid and only training twice a week

I imagine that's pretty close to the mark Wally.....there's a lot of great players running around in local footy. You could make a VFL finals side just from the MPNFL in my view.

I've always wondered Wally, you guys seem to have much more success getting blokes from the WRFL and keeping them. Same goes for Werribee. What's the secret?

I must say that we don't recruit that many players from the WRFL nowadays but we do get a lot from the Western Jets and from Willi CY's in the Ammos and they do seem to stick around even if they don't realise their AFL dreams - why do they stay? I can't figure that out as they can get more money for less training playing in lower leagues but i'd like to think it's because of the great coaches we have had over the journey - we have only had 6 coaches since 1996 so that provides stability - a good, winning, successful culture and great support staff - I believe we are the only VFL standalone club with a high-performance manager. They must enjoy playing here as many go on to play 100 games and get life membership.

I have no doubt that off-field stability has to play a part Wally. Certainly we've had trouble with that. When Brett lovett left us in 2009 you could feel that the good times were over, and sure enough we've had a bunch of coaches since then, not to mention a few overhauls of boards, and the club going into recession for a year.
