Very keen for this one. Interested to see what we'll be up against this week.
Not overly surprised we lost but what I was surprised about was the way we lost. Hard to find positives and thought weld be far more competitive than what we were.
On paper we have a better side than Frankston but ild say Frankston will go in as favourite next week.

Yeah I didn't expect Southport to win so convincingly. Not putting much stock in it. While we've had the stronger opening game, I can see Port being a much stronger challenge on their home deck.
A very demoralising loss for Round 1 after the recent hype over recruiting. It felt a bit like groundhog day after being convincingly beaten by the Sharks last year.
We had some ok passages of play, but didn't win enough of the ball in the centre and our forward entries let us down.
Frankston next week will be a tough game to get over the line.
On a side note, the streaming coverage of the game was horrendous, using a single camera, with the operator continually missing the play entirely as he struggled to keep up with the game., even blurry focus was an issue. Hopefully that can be addressesed urgently. I swapped over to watch the other VFL games and no such issues there.
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
The performance of the camera man was worse than Port Melbourne. Ild say a first timer, at one stage Port had scored a goal and the camera was still outside the 50.
It pains me to say it but maybe Digs is right, perhaps Ports methods of recruiting ex AFL players isn't the way to rebuild a team. Only perhaps at this stage, not writing them off but some worrying signs today.

It's early days. And playing up at Southport would be a tough way to open the season. I don't expect an easy win next week but if our boys show up with that same hunger we'll be a strong chance.
Pros required Bring back Station hotel !
We might be from the bush. but we ain't green
