Camberwell FC Historical display
Body:

The Camberwell Historical Society have a terrific display currently on show at the Camberwell Library.

The display includes photos of teams over the years, along with club memorabilia, premiership flags and medallions

The display is located at the back of the Camberwell Library (behind some glass sliding doors. My dad and I went on Sunday. As past members of the Cobras, we thought it was terrific.

Hopefully it is not a one-off and can be added to over time.

I'll have to check it out. In 2027 it will be 150 years of VFA. Time to organise a formal celebration of all teams past and present. Celebrate each of the eras 1877-1896, 1897-1924, 1925-1960, 1961-1987, 1988-1999, 2000 to current. Eras pre vfl 1877-1896, up to when north Melbourne, Hawthorn and Footscray departed 1897-1924, one division 1925-1960, era of two  divisions 1961-1987, back to one division 1988-1999 and current from 2000. Celebrate champions of each era. I'll organise a commitee with phil Cleary, Alan wickes, Paul Amy and a few others and start planning. This is a must to have a formal celebration of the grand father of Australian rules football VFA. We had over 900 people at both Williamstown and port Melbourne hall of fame dinners. I went to both. Can easily pack out crown palladium. Time to start planning for 2027.

Great idea. But I can't see the AFL having any interest in investing time it money into it sadly.

I'd so much like to be proven wrong though. This competition deserves far more respect and recognition than it receives from the AFL.

* It's time to restore the VFA name.

It won't be up to the afl. We can organise it without them. I'll have a good chat with Alan wickes at Frankston tomorrow night. Vfa celebration of 150 years will create massive interest and can go ahead.
