Southport midfield will be too strong. The sharks will win vfl flag at third attempt. Will never ever barrack for an afl side against a stand alone team. For me it's Southport sharks. There will be quite a few of us there on sunday and will all be cheering for the Southport sharks.
I can't barrack for an interstate team, standalone or not. Footscray is the preferred outcome for me but I honestly have very little interest in the grand final this year. Most I'll do is put it on in the background while I do something else.
I'm another who is struggling to 'buy in' to this Grand Final.
An interstate club and an AFL club (albeit playing with the proper club name)... Its hard to be passionate about this one.
What a shame Frankston couldn't sneak in.
I guess my preference (as a Bulldogs member) is for Footscray to win. They are talking about it being the biggest crowd in years.. But I'd be surprised as there hasn't been a lot of promotion of the game on Bulldogs and VFL social media that I've seen.
Southport have been busy on their Facebook posts and will be super keen to win in their third grand final in past 4 seasons. They have peaked at the right time. They will be on a high after their liston trophy winner. Princes Park holds no fears. Southport looks slightly better than last year and definitely don't rate Footscray as good as werribee from last year. Southport to win comfortably. Man of the match brayden crossley.
Can anyone tell me how /where can a get a list of both teams in number order. I have found a copy of the teams in the positions they might line up; that does not help as not many play in positions
If you have downloaded the VFL app, then once the game starts you can have it show you the player stats for one team only separately and then sort by player number, and then switch to viewing the player stats for the other team and do the same thing. The app might start displaying the player stats section for the game shortly before the first bounce as well, although it's currently not. Not sure if there's any other way to find the lists in number order.
This should be a bloody good game. It's just such a shame that a Victorian standalone isn't represented again.
I'm tipping Footscray and I have a feeling Southport might struggle back at Ikon Park.
Not that I'm a gambler these days, but what odds are they paying?
* It's time to restore the VFA name.
Footscray $1.60
Southport $2.30
I feel that's about right.

Can never support any afl teams in this comp. Will be cheering Southport sharks. I hope they smash Footscray. Might be the case of third time lucky.

FWIW, Footscray to win by 3 goals.
