Tasmanian football in Crisis!!!!!!!!!! Forget about Tasmania putting a side in the AFL? Tasmanian football is in crisis. I believe that the decision is very close now to drop the Devils program and go with a statewide competition in 2009. The Interesting part about this is that there is still a lot of bickering between the North and the South of Tasmania about who should be in the statewide competition in 2009. As I have said previously No Devils, no chance of a team in the AFL.

The AFL's position is that financially the numbers don't stack up in Tasmania. I wish someone would ask them how the numbers stack up in western Sydney when they're building a stadium with a capacity of only 10,000.

Demetriou is a goose. Fancy destroying VFL park Waverley and guess what the goose wants to build another boutique yuppy stadium for West Sydney and Gold Coast to play games there. What a joke. Several suburban grounds are long gone and the afl prefers to play games at Yuppie stadiums for the corporates. Demetriou would be behind the plot to destroy footy in Tassie so there is no chance for Tassie to ever join the afl. The Tassie devils have produced quite a few players that have gone to play afl in the past couple of seasons. They have played some good games this season but hard to work out why they have been flogged at home by huge margins to sandy and willy. The devils need 3 or 4 experienced ex afl players to guide them along, similar to Trent Bartlett and Jason Heatley. Tassie footy would go back 20 years without the devils. They need the devils and need them to be competetive.

The conflict betwen the North & the South has been going on since football began. I can remember a few years back Barry Breen was employed to try and straighten Tassie up but obviously gave it up as a useless cause. The statewide experiment a few years back was a complete disaster. The devils have lacked quality leadership off the field with the Presidency changing almost yearly. I think the club's threat to escape to the SANFL was a terrible mistake as they were very unstable in the VFL. If Tassie cannot run an organised team in the VFL, how on earth could they control a team in the AFL. And finally Why does everybod hate Scott Wade's guts. ? And finally why does everybody hate Scott Wade's guts

We might be from the bush. but we ain't green

A new state league is non starter at the moment as no Southern clubs (Glenorchy, Clarence etc) are not interested. Northern clubs are only interested as the NTFL is pretty uneven with a big gap between the old TFL teams and the rest. I guess they wont the NTFL to split between the top clubs and the rest similar to what happened in the SFL a couple of years ago. What Presidency? There hasn't been won for a couple seasons now. Why does every one hate Scott Wade cause his in charge and the buck stops with him. His reign as AFL Tas supremo has been a disaster. Under his watch the TFL collapsed, the AFL had to bail out the old Football Tas (perhaps the reason he uses every opportunity to kiss there arse?) football participation rates has dropped, playing standards has dropped, the Mariners program has gone down the drain and the Devils have gone from the best non aligned VFL team to far and away the worst. I ask what the hell has he done right? Tasmanian football would be a hell lot better off with out him in charge.

Roosters only stand alone team to make a Grandfinal but were never going to win. Sandy to strong with a few Melbourne boys.
