Port's side looks pretty settled now. The 12/10 rule looks to have worked well. Will we see it during the home and away season in 2005?
Not sure about during the H&A season, as the AFL clubs and people that want the VFL as purely a breeding ground might chuck a tanty. I LOVE the 12/10 rule in the finals though. Allows an even series, and provides incentive to VFL listed players to persevere. Really was a good idea by the VFL though.

The 12/10 rule has been the best rule introduced into for footy for a long time. If applied reguarly, it will force clubs to think about giving VFL players a greater opportunity throughout the home and away season, which can only be a good thing. I think Port have benefited from North not having any rookie list this season, as they've only had a maximum of 16 North players to choose from. Just guessing but you'd think that Port would have had on most ocassions at least 10 VFL listed players in the side.
I was speaking with a Kangaroos supporter today who is convinced that Sav Rocca is eligble to play....\ I told her I think he's ineligble? Same with McKernan...and Jolly for Sandy
Yes, both only played 5 games (Sav and McKernan)... Not the 7 required.
Can someone who takes an interest in Rugby tell me What kind of a crowd will the Storm draw? With the media attention they get, they should be drawing massive crowds.
They are usually drawing crowds of around 8-10K at Olympic Park, which is a fair effort because of the poor facilities there, poor promotion of the game by the Nine Network and the NRL, and the fact that they rarely get prime time matches there. The Storm final is in Sydney, but if it were in Melbourne a crowd of over 15K would be expected. The other problem with the Storm not getting bigger crowds than that is the price of admission. Despite the game running for half the amount of an AFL/VFL match, it costs about 50% more on average for admission. Agree that the VFL should get more coverage than it does in the papers.

It should have been played at prime time on a Friday or Saturday night, not a Sunday arvo! I thought the VFL would have been on the Saturday arvo as well. I have decided to go to the VFL and watch the Storm replay in the end. Borough better not let me down now! :x

SANDRINGHAM 3.3 7.7 9.11 9.13 (67) PORT MELBOURNE 4.3 6.5 7.7 9.9 (63) Goals: Sandringham: Sautner 4 Williams 2 Gallagher Crowe Sylvia. Port: Grima 2 J Clayton 2 Pitt 2 Baird Harding Aloi. Best: Sandringham: Rigoni Crowe Liddell O'Keeffe Sylvia Ferguson Bell. Port: J Clayton Robbins Pitt Hale Obst S Clayton. Reports: Nil. At Optus Oval Thouroughly deserving win, with Sandringham outplaying Port for the majority of the game. Port struggled to take marks inside their forward 50, and disposal errors and a strong zebra rebound proved too good,
