COBURG caretaker coach Craig McRae came away from yesterday's debut assignment against Port Melbourne empty-handed.

The Brisbane Lions triple-premiership forward, who took over the Tigers' coaching reins from Jade Rawlings, was forced to settle for a 45-point loss to Port.

"I don't believe in fairytales and it wasn't too good," McRae said.

IT'S taken time for former South Warrnambool and Geelong Falcons player Sam Dwyer to settle into the line-up for VFL side Port Melbourne.

Now in his fifth year with the Borough, Dwyer has backed up a 21-out-of-22-game season in 2008 with an even stronger start to 2009.
